Local, Regional, National Gifts

No matter how large or small, every gift that is left to the Church can make a significant impact on our mission and ministry, and in maintaining our spiritual heritage. There are many ways you can help support the work of the church, you may wish to leave a gift in your will to your church locally, regionally or nationally. Please consider how a gift in your Will could help us meet the needs of future generations.

A legacy to your local church

One of the Church of England’s greatest strengths is its engagement in every community through its local parish church. A gift in your will can make a lasting difference by enabling your parish to achieve something that it would not normally do. You may wish to channel your gift to mission or community projects, to maintenance of the church fabric, to youth work or music, or in some other way.

A legacy to your cathedral

You may wish to support your local cathedral. A cathedral is often the most historical and architecturally important building in its city; a spiritual focus for visitors, worshippers and pilgrims from near and far. A gift to your cathedral would help preserve it for future generations and extend its mission into the wider community.

A legacy to your diocese

You can choose to leave a legacy gift to the diocese. Your diocese will most likely have its own Mission Fund which makes grants to parishes across your region for community engagement and mission projects.

Your gift could help churches in poorer parts of your region with their mission and ministry or fund an exciting regional project to work with young people or refugees.

A legacy to the Church of England

You can also leave a gift to the work of the Church nationally. A gift to the Church of England Pensions Board will help support retired clergy, and provide retirement homes for clergy and their dependents. Alternatively a gift to the Archbishops’ Council could fund special projects at a national level, the most recent being the Weddings Project.
